As part of our Black and Gifted programme supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, actor and director Trevor Laird will be hosting a participatory half-day play reading workshop for actors and aspiring actors.
The first half of the workshop will consist of working through play material theoretically and exploring characters. In the second half of the workshop, participants will be performing scenes from the play.
Trevor Laird was a founder member of the Black Theatre Co-operative who were based and performed many plays at Riverside Studios in the late 1970s & 80s. As well as appearing in many Black Theatre Co-op productions, Trevor also began his directing career at Riverside in 1979. His acting credits include One Man, Two Guvnors (National Theatre) and Much Ado About Nothing (Old Vic) while his Film and Television work includes Secret & Lies,Babylon, The Long Good Friday, Small Axe and Ted Lasso.
