This award winning, and compelling documentary blends previously unseen Super 8 archive, contemporary interviews and animation, to tell the gripping tale of Nias, an ‘idyllic” island community changed forever by the discovery of a ‘perfect wave’ in the 1970’s and the unintended, dramatic consequences that followed. With culture clashes, malaria, black magic and tragic consequences, this is a cautionary tale of paradise lost.
