“I believe that art has the unique ability to transform lives, spark conversations and connections and to inspire new ways of thinking. While working at Riverside Studios I have come to appreciate the way in which art can convey complex emotions and ideas in ways that words cannot and I also began to see how art can be a force for good in the world, by raising awareness about socio-political issues, promoting self-healing, self-expression and fostering empathy and understanding.
It is this belief in the transformative power of art that has driven me to start thinking of ways in which I can use my own skills and passion to make a difference in this community. I have long known that there are talented people living in Hammersmith & Fulham who deserve an opportunity to showcase their work in a meaningful way. The aim is to create a month-long event that would be accessible, inclusive and welcoming to everyone, regardless of their background or experience with art. I believe that this exhibition will be a catalyst for positive change and that it will inspire people to think differently about the power of art to create a better world.”
