Kino Dreams is the first UK retrospective of Wenders’ films in 15 years and the first chance for UK audiences to experience the 4K restorations of Wings of Desire, The American Friend and Kings of The Road in cinemas. The tour, supported by the BFI awarding National Lottery funding, aims to give audiences across the UK a chance to see these restorations on the big screen and introduce a new generation of film fans to the work of one of world cinema's most curious and creative filmmakers.
WINGS OF DESIRE: Two angels, Damiel (Bruno Ganz) and Cassiel (Otto Sander), glide through the streets of Berlin, observing the bustling population, providing invisible rays of hope to the distressed but never interacting with them. When Damiel falls in love with lonely trapeze artist Marion (Solveig Dommartin), the angel longs to experience life in the physical world and finds--with some words of wisdom from actor Peter Falk (playing himself) -- that it might be possible for him to take human form.
