Passing Through: A Riverside R&D Sharing
PASSING THROUGH takes place in a room in LIMBO —a liminal space where souls rationalize the pain they’ve avoided in life. LOGOS, the high-strung personification of logic, has been stuck in this room for what feels like a small eternity, when FRED, an easy-going frat-boy, Suddenly bursts through the door. Their unexpected co-habitation forces them to confront their own internal paradoxes and limitations. The piece challenges the assumption that conflict is inherent to diversity, instead exploring how we rely on the differences of others’ experiences to understand our own. As FRED and LOGOS begin to unravel key questions- what killed Fred? Was Logos ever human? Why is an audience watching their every move? - they inadvertently edge closer to the inevitable moment when passing on to the after-life can no longer be delayed.
Passing Through is a continuation of the piece by the same title produced for Theatre503’s Rapid Write Response.
