Beautifully restored in 4K from the original negative and back in cinemas from 20th March 2026! Similarly to Hard Boiled, THE KILLER has been largely unavailable to western audiences for the last 30 years, so it is with great pride that Arrow Films have put the film back into cinemas.

Whilst not an immediate success on its release in China, THE KILLER, is now considered one the greatest action films ever committed to film, influencing major directors such as Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, Luc Besson and the Wachowskis and smashed open the door for John Woo to become a major Hollywood director.

With his trademark gun-fu action sequences and the continuation of Woo's exploration of male bonding, THE KILLER, is considered by many to be Woo's masterpiece and arguably his magnum opus. THE KILLER is not simply about action but is a film that is rich in powerful themes, driven by complex and interesting characters, beautiful cinematography and an iconic musical score.
