Too Small to Tell
By Author & Actress Lisa Rose
Current co-Directors Liz Ranken & Paula B Stanic
Originally co-created with Liz Ranken, Paula B Stanic & Catherine Alexander
North London author and actress Lisa Rose brings her powerful and darkly funny solo show, ‘Too Small to Tell’ to the stage. It’s a memorable story about friendship, power and surviving Harvey Weinstein’s heliocentric hell. The play is a deeply personal story inspired by the #metoo movement and draws from her experience of working as an assistant at Miramax and actress in the 90’s. Nearly thirty years later, in the wake of recent allegations about - Justin Baldoni, Russell Brand, Sean Combs, Gino D'Acampo, Noel Clarke, Mohamed Al-Fayed, Giovanni Pernice, Kevin Spacey, Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. Lisa reflects on her time at Miramax and asks:
when is a story too BIG to tell? why does this keep happening?
Blending humour and heartbreak, Rose explores silence and survival in an industry built on secrets. Following a sold-out performance at the Park Theatre and packed houses at Upstairs at the Gatehouse, the play was shortlisted for Best New Play at Brighton Fringe 2025.
Directed by Elizabeth Ranken and co-created with Paula B. Stanic, Too Small to Tell is a timely and gripping exploration of resilience, sisterhood, and speaking truth to power.
“Netflix take note.”
The Jewish Chronicle
“Rose’s candid one-woman show, is designed to remind audiences of how the film business allowed Weinstein to operate with impunity.”
Vanessa Thorpe, Arts and Media Correspondent, The Observer
“An actress navigates drama, ambition, abuse and trauma.”
Noon
“Theatre as excavation, as testimony, as resilience. It poses uncomfortable questions about how both victim and perpetrator can become entangled in abusive power dynamics."
Brighton FringeReview
“Why now? Because these things deserve to be said again and again. Because to repeat them is to fight against men like Weinstein.”
Ben Marshall
“I cried when relaying the show to my wife and daughter. It opened up feedback from women in my life about experiences of sexism and misogyny. As a man, it made me mad and angry. Yet I’m optimistic society is stamping out powerful, abusive men. It’s a story everyone should see.”
“Truthful, touching, timely, terrific!”
"I was impressed with Lisa’s energy and conviction to the role. It was a striking and memorable performance"
“A personal account of power and abuse of power.” “Mesmerising - a must see!”
“Funny, tragic and thought-provoking.
“Powerful. A great performance.”
“A story that must never stop being told.”
