Introduction To Clown

Led by Athena Amoret, this workshop will nurture creativity, connection, and confidence as you will discover your own inner clown. You will achieve this by playing games, becoming more aware of yourself as well as your audience, and discovering your natural in the moment responses, with some laughter, joy and wonder thrown in there too. Athena Amoret

South London born clown, Athena Amoret trained at Circomedia, studying Contemporary Circus and Physical Theatre and shortly after joined a monthly clown night Friday Flop, created, and directed by Jon Davison. The company performed at Rosemary Branch Theatre, Blue Elephant Theatre as well as running workshops at London Metropolitan University and Rose Bruford College. Athena then went on to create her one-woman, feminist, provocative clown show, CHICK-IN SHOW. The show debuted at the Wandsworth Arts Fringe 2023, in February 2024 was staged at Riverside Studios, part of Bitesize Festival 2024 to a great reception, and was staged at tramshed in July 2025. Athena enjoys mixing clown and performance art and making innovative work that leaves the audience thinking long after the performance.
