Our Borough

Thu 28 - Sat 30 May 2026

Cat’s Whiskers Community Arts with Third Age on Stage presents

OUR BOROUGH

A frolic through the fascinating history of Hammersmith and Fulham.

Three centuries of extraordinary history packed into 75 minutes of fun storytelling with legendary characters, unknown tales and unexpected events.  From rural beginnings through urbanisation, early immigration and two world wars, this borough has experienced it all.

It has been home to Royals and ruffians, artists and activists, the famous and the infamous.

Watch and hear the men and women who lived, worked and made history right here.

Devised and created by Riverside’s Third Age on Stage drama group.

Scripted by Carol Allen and Group Members.

Directed by Carol Allen.

Drama teacher and director Carol Allen has been teaching adult drama classes for over fifteen years.

As Dive In Associate Cats Whiskers Community Arts, Carol started Riverside’s Third Age on Stage group in the midst of Covid in 2020.  Under her direction its members have written and performed several short plays here as part of the Riverscribes project, plus a full length revue, The Seven Ages of Us and most recently an informal programme of sketches, poetry and song under the title Bits and Pieces.

Her workshops cover voice and speech training, movement, improvisation, character creation and work with texts. They aim to improve self-confidence and memory in a relaxed and fun environment.

In the past Carol’s students have taken part in live performances at venues including Kensington Palace, the Drayton Arms Theatre and the Bush Theatre. Students have also appeared in short films.

Third Age on Stage workshops are currently closed while we rehearse and will re-open to new students on Friday 5th June.
