IJAD Dance Company — Innovation Lab

Fri 26 Jun 2026 09:00

A live design environment for artists, venues, funders, technologists, and researchers who want to do more than talk about what’s broken. The digital transition is reshaping what art can be — and simultaneously deciding which art survives. This is our third Innovation Lab Day. The question is the same as it was at the first. The urgency is greater.

This is not a conference. Every person in the room is a participant — thinking, mapping, and designing from the first session to the last. By the end of the day, the room has produced real proposals, not just conversation. There is no expectation to present or prepare anything. Simply be there as a thinker — bringing your practice, your questions, and your position in the system.

“If we don’t design the ecosystem ourselves, who decides what disappears?”

The seven sessions

One question. Seven sessions. One room.

MORNING:

  • AI and intellectual property: who is at risk here?
  • Risk mapping: where is it concentrated, where is it displaced?

AFTERNOON:

  • Audience knowledge and power — The Audience Agency
  • System tensions lab: what breaks when these systems don’t align?
  • Responsive panel: funders, venues, technology
  • Design sprint: build a piece of the ecosystem that doesn’t exist yet

CLOSE:

  • Living document — seeded in the room, open beyond it
