GUTTED

Mon 27 Jul 2026 20:45

“You bitch for making me say Ricotta Salata al Peperoncino!”

GUTTED is an absurd, ridiculous, saucy and sexy two-hander where cooking is courtship and food is foreplay – but when a digestive diagnosis kills the thrill of eating, Reuben (Morgan Beale) and Honey (Louise Lacassagne) must reinvent their appetite for love. This sharp, silly and ultimately heart-warming new play will leave you smiling and searching for the nearest restaurant to curb those pangs of hunger.

Morgan Beale is a London based actor who has worked across theatre, TV and film, including a role in the 2025 Netflix film Jay Kelly.

Louise Lacassagne is a working class actor and singer from the north-west of England, who graduated from the 3 year BA Acting course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2025.

Amber Charlie Conroy is an Irish writer/director/ producer and co-founder of Talkers & Doers. She is co-writer and director of the critically acclaimed, multi-award winning solo show Clean Slate. She is the 2026 recipient of the Summerhall Arts x Hugo Burge Foundation New Writing Residency for her play Babyplay. Amber's work blends academically-driven storytelling with character-led humour; exploring love, rage, food and sex with a distinctive rhythm, wit and audience focus.

Reya Muller is a writer and director, who founded production company lowdoor productions in 2021. She is interested in work which reinvents perceptions of our literary past, and bold new writing which speaks to the contemporary moment. She also loves food.

This production premiered as part of the One Act Festival at the Union Theatre in May, where it won three awards for Best New Writing, Best Direction and Best Female Performance.
