Stuck in Dubai

South African comedian Dalin Oliver is set to take the stage at Bitesize Festival in London with the international debut of his brand‑new stand‑up comedy show, Stuck in Dubai - a wild, true story born from an experience no traveller ever wants. En route to perform at Adelaide Fringe, Dalin was in transit when conflict broke out in the region, leaving him stranded in Dubai for four long, surreal days.

What followed was a chaotic mix of uncertainty, humour and unexpected viral fame. His social media updates exploded, and Dalin suddenly became South Africa’s favourite “official‑unofficial international news correspondent,”earning both local and international media attention. In classic South African style, he turned a traumatic moment into comedy gold - finding laughter and love in his posts, and receiving the same in return. 

It’s a miracle he made his connecting flight to Australia, eventually landing Down Under just hours before showtime. Fresh from surviving the wildest layover imaginable, including witnessing live missiles, he now brings the chaos, adrenaline and high‑energy storytelling to the Riverside Studios for a limited five‑show run from 14 to 16 August.
