Acclaimed South Korean filmmaker Lee Chang-dong is back. The director returns with the relationship drama Possible Love, which South Korea has selected as its submission for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards.

In his first film since 2018’s Burning, Lee explores the story of two married couples — Mi-ok (Jeon Do-yeon) and her laid-off husband, Ho-seok (Sul Kyung-gu); and the affluent pair Ye-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong), a documentary filmmaker, and her spouse, Sang-woo (Zo In-sung) — whose worlds collide as Ye-ji seeks to film a documentary about laid-off workers. As their lives become increasingly intertwined, the couples confront repressed emotions and hidden desires.
