Biesy/Demons (A Riverside R&D Sharing)

Adapted by TAKDAJA, Komornicka/Włast’s writings converge in a new performance on isolation, freedom, and womanhood.

Part poetic stream of consciousness, part personal letters, part vibes — Biesy/Demons wanders across self-realisation through experience. It mixes fictional writings, essays, and personal letters to their mother and lovers, both in blossoming and wilting life chapters.

From traveling across Europe to running out of money –  falling madly in love to burning dresses – studying in Cambridge and defying gender expectations, TAKDAJA’s Biesy/Demons looks at identity and migration from the perception of 19th century Poland and 21st century England.

This sharing was selected for our R&D at Riverside Programme - providing free rehearsal space for new writing. Every year we offer several opportunities for free rehearsal space with a ticketed sharing of the very best brand-new work that would otherwise face financial barriers in securing space. Supporting new work is at the heart of what we do, and buying a ticket for this sharing helps us to fund future opportunities for artists.
