Synthesized (London Breeze Film Festival Preview + Q&A)
Synthesized (UK 97 min) Dir. Chris Green
Part of our ‘3 for 2 Dark Comedy Fright Night’ evening, London Breeze is delighted to present a preview of Chris Green’s dark comedy thriller, Synthesized, starring This is England’s Thomas Turgoose and a host of familiar faces. The film has a standout sound design with music composed by Andy McCluskey (founding member of OMD) and featuring Look Mum No Computer aka Sam Battle.
ATTACK. DECAY. SUSTAIN. RELEASE. A computer repair man obsessed with 80's synthesizers gets a taste of revenge and starts bashing more than the notes on his keyboard after his life implodes.
Unassuming everyman Martyn (Thomas Turgoose) has two loves - his Ford XR2 and his synthesizers. By day he works in a run-down computer repair shop for oddball boss Kam (Yanick Ghanty) in the local precinct, by night he plays his synthesized tones to unappreciative boozers in pubs and working men's clubs. When he finds his wife Valkyrie (Sacha Parkinson) has been cheating on him with plans to separate, his life begins to spiral out of control. Also starring Kiran Landa as Jasmine.
The film’s sonic centerpiece is an exclusive collaboration between two of the most influential figures in British pop history. Andy McCluskey (founder of OMD, with over 40 million records sold) has re-envisioned his seminal synth-pop masterpiece, "Enola Gay," specifically for the film’s finale. This 2026 version features brand-new vocals from iconic 80s chart-topper Kim Wilde, marking a historic pairing of electronic royalty. This exclusive recording serves as the film's emotional crescendo and will be released later in the year after the film's debut.
