Forming part of a radical multimedia exhibition entitled Who Are We? at Pitzhanger Gallery, the beautifully shot film examines identity and belonging in the cityscape. Four teenage boys, looking for a place to hang out away from the streets, find an abandoned flat. They turn it into a place to call their own, but when one of them tells the older boys about it, their sanctuary is violated.
The film was co-directed by Zahra Alipour (Bollo Brook Youth Centre) and Mathias Gilay, with Ami Kourouma (Bollo Brook Youth Centre) as script consultant on set. The script was written by a group of young people from the youth centres, based on a story by the rapper Kavelly. All of the actors are Delve and Bollo young people.
There will be a Q&A discussion after the short film with young people from the Bollo Brook Youth Centre and Aaron Adrian Rogers who is currently working on the Game of Throne’s prequel House of Dragon.
