The tour, supported by the BFI awarding National Lottery funding, aims to give audiences across the UK a chance to see these restorations on the big screen and introduce a new generation of film fans to the work of one of world cinema's most curious and creative filmmakers.
BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB: Ageing Cuban musicians whose talents had been virtually forgotten following Castro's takeover of Cuba, are brought out of retirement by Ry Cooder, who travelled to Havana in order to bring the musicians together, resulting in triumphant performances of extraordinary music, and resurrecting the musicians' careers.
