Breaking Ground is the only scratch night created exclusively with and for young artists and creatives.
A platform for bold, urgent and game-changing new work, Burnt Orange Theatre put young voices centre stage, testing fresh ideas and writing the future of theatre in real time.
Each event features a line up of short, work-in-progress pieces created by artists aged 16-23. The pieces may be first drafts, musical interludes, comedy, poetry or new experiments - each one giving a glimpse into a performance process and a bold experiment.
In a world where young artists are too often overlooked, be part of a necessary and electrifying night of performances and an audience hungry for something new. Hosted by the young people themselves, Breaking Ground is the perfect supportive environment to watch, meet and connect with young artists, admire their work and engage with the community.
