Middle Management has her tits out and is singing ‘Don’t Cha’ by The PussyCat Dolls on karaoke. HR Sandra is desperate for the mini cheddars not to get crushed into the carpet. And Maddison Fox - well, Maddison Fox is a tw*t.
Serena’s office Christmas Party is tragic - like, beyond tragic. So she's locked herself in the toilet because, seriously, f*ck HR Sandra’s forced fun.
Deck The Stalls is a blisteringly funny new play by Lydia Kavanagh, performed by Laura Rea and directed by Chloe Cattin. This show is for anyone who has had to endure the: ‘There’s no washing up fairy’ posters and passive-aggressive office lunchroom sticky notes. Filled with humour, fun and a sack full of heart this alternative Christmas Show is sure to be a great night out - maybe even bring your own office Christmas party?

FAQ'S WITH LYDIA KAVANAGH
Hello Lydia here! I’m the writer of Deck The Stalls and here’s a few questions I normally get asked about the show.
When did you make the show?
I started writing the show in October 2021 - the original monologue was about 15 mins long. It began with a girl sat on the toilet, ranting about her terrible office Christmas party. I did a bit of work on the monologue and it was accepted into a new writing night with Yellow Coat Theatre. There I met Chloe and Laura. I’d had a few friends read the monologue (none of them Geordies!) but Laura reading the play there was something unspoken between my writing and her performance. Coupled with Chloe's fantastic direction, I just felt I’d met my people.
From there on I wrote a 35 min work in progress version for two great pub venues in London (2022).
The show then developed into a full 60 min piece for Wandsworth Fringe Festival (2023) for which it won the Laugh Out Loud Award.
What is an Anti-Panto?
Panto’s are fab. They are often people's first introduction to theatre, super accessible and a great family experience over the festive season. However, for those who aren’t keen on kids or theatre that makes you ‘join in’, our anti panto is for you. Deck The Stalls keeps the accessibility of traditional pantos, but subverts this through comedy.
Who is the show for?
Anyone who likes a laugh
Anyone who has endured ‘there’s no washing up liquid’ posters in the staff kitchen
Anyone who is interested in Female New Writing
Any northerners that feel surrounded by southerners
And of course this is a show for ... the girls, the gays and theys. Slay.
My writing always tackles issues in fun, lively and accessible ways. Audiences always leave feeling moved but also have a great time and laugh (a lot!).
