“Is it true what they say that everyone… dies?”
Léa Jackson makes her writing debut with dark comedy, Everybody Dies / The Fly.
Set in the hypothetical limbo between this life and the next, a young woman and her many consciousness's journey through her short lived life and premature death, challenging the audience to ask what we actually feel, remember, regret and wonder in those final moments. Is it what we expect it to be? Or are the things we buried deepest due for resurrection?
Everybody Dies/The Fly was originally a short film submitted for the Straight8 film competition in 2023. The play was then workshopped at Court’s in Session at the Royal Court Theatre earlier this year.
