With her heart rooted in Jazz, EyiTemi walks a path that is comfortably and firmly, her own. Her music is personal, self written and rich with intention… “I feel I have a voice that is relevant in my piece of earth and my ambition is to express this honestly through my music”
She writes songs that resonate and dig beneath the surface. Packing a punch, her songs articulate complicated life experiences in a way that still leaves you feeling light, free and motivated. Her musical inspirations range from legends Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Frank Sinatra to favorites Jill Scott and India Aire
She has sung most of her life (mainly in church) but moved into the singer songwriter territory in 2020; amassing in a relatively short time, a credible number of songs and releasing 2 EPs along the way.
Kaleidoscope, her 3rd album (and first full album) is the centrepiece of the night. Already a fan favorite, Kaleidoscope has gained an impressive list of admirers - BBC Introducing (Track of the Week - Adam Walton's show); JazzFM (On My Playlist Track of the Week - YolanDa Brown). Music from earlier EPs will also get a look in, as well as debuting a number of unreleased songs!
In this year's presentation for EFG London Jazz Festival, EyiTemi explores personal key moments from the ebbs and flows of life.
Expect unpretentious warmth, fun, goosebump moments and good music!
