Dario Fo, Nobel prize-winning Italian playwright and actor, is one of the most impressive figures in Riverside Studios’ history. However, his wife and long-time collaborator, Franca Rame, performed at Riverside before Fo, in addition to joining him here in his appearances. Rame left her own important mark on theatre, developing exciting new techniques and pushing the envelope of theatre in her own way.
Academic and performer Filomena Campus will give a talk on the importance of Fo and Rame’s performances in London in the 1980s, their theatre, their practices, and their archive, and highlight the often overlooked work of Franca Rame.
This event is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. While it is free we encourage you to book.
