Since 2018, Michael Leader and Jake Cunningham have ventured deep into the glorious world of Studio Ghibli on their podcast Ghibliotheque. They have covered every Ghibli feature, interviewed Ghibli filmmakers, and even travelled to Japan for the ultimate Ghibli pilgrimage. In 2021, Ghibliotheque leapt out of the earbuds and onto the printed page for the lavishly-illustrated hardback Ghibliotheque - The Unofficial Guide to the Films of Studio Ghibli, which charted the studio’s world-conquering rise film-by-film, from My Neighbour Totoro to Spirited Away and beyond. Since then, Michael and Jake have published four further books, including the Ghibliotheque Anime Movie Guide, Ghibliverse: Studio Ghibli Beyond the Films and The World of Studio Ghibli, their first book for younger readers.
Now, they're coming to the Riverside to both present this special screening of the beloved Ghibli classic MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO, and will then stay for one of their special 'Z-A of Ghibli' animated talks (ticketed separately with a double bill offer available).
