Riverside has an iconic place in radio history as the home of Hancock’s Half Hour, so we are delighted to be the venue for this new show which celebrates a hundred years of laughter on the airwaves. It’s been a century since the BBC was founded in October 1922. What did we laugh at then? What do we laugh at now? What have we laughed at in between and what makes us laugh the most?
From Morecambe and Wise to Mitchell and Webb, from Joyce Grenfell to Joan Rivers, this show will unearth hidden treasures and show off all-time greats. It’s the panel’s job to decide which classic comedy clips deserve a place in Gyles’s Joke Box. It’s your job to come along and join in the fun!
We are offering complimentary tickets to the debut recording on Wednesday 26th January at 2pm. Please note - as this event is free, it will be slightly oversubscribed and seats will be available on a first-come first-served basis on the night. Tickets are also limited to 5 per booking.
