Here we continue our longstanding celebration of the inimitable Tony Hancock, with a further three episodes of Hancock's classic work. From Hancock’s Half Hour, made here at Riverside in 1959, we start with The Tycoon, a hilarious episode where Hancock dreams he is successful in business and takes over half the world. We then move to 1963 to show for the first time at Riverside an episode from Hancock’s series with ATV, The Man on the Corner, where he is recruited as a spy. This series was locked away for decades but contains some very funny material and is a must-see for Hancock fans. Finally, we will show the classic episode from the 1961 BBC series Hancock, The Lift. This fans favourite features Hancock getting stuck in a lift at the BBC TV Centre and managing to upset just about everyone stuck with him.
The Tony Hancock Appreciation Society will introduce and discuss the episode afterwards as usual.
