BALTIMORE is a thriller based on actual events that took place on 26th April 1974 when English heiress, Rose Dugdale, played by Imogen Poots, and three comrades carried out a violent armed raid on Russborough House, Wicklow, in which 19 masterpieces were stolen in an effort to support the IRA’s armed struggle.
Hiding out in a remote cottage as she awaits a response to her ransom demands, Rose can see from news bulletins that the biggest police hunt in Irish history is gathering pace. As she watches, she can feel the noose further tightening around her.
As each day unfolds, we try to piece together how a wealthy heiress has ended up hiding out in the wilds of West Cork with a gun and a stash of stolen masterpieces. Will the ransom demands be met or will time finally run out for Rose Dugdale?
Following its world premiere in August at Telluride, and its UK premiere at the 67th BFI London Film Festival in November, London Breeze Film Festival and Riverside Studios are delighted to be hosting this special preview event in advance of the film’s cinema release. This latest film from dynamic directing duo Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor follows on from the success of their acclaimed drama, Rose Plays Julie (2019) and documentary, The Future Tense (2022).
