The LS/FF NIGHT PASS delivers a whole evening of the very best surf cinema, Q+A’s, icons, filmmakers, good times, and more PLUS a complimentary beer from our friends at Sharp’s brewery… all for £20. The night passes are limited, always popular and always sell out. When they’re gone, they’re gone!

The LS/FF NIGHT PASS for SATURDAY 9th November serves up a night of big waves, big turns and big horizons as we journey BEHIND THE CURTAIN.

Saturday opens with the multi award-winning Maya and the Wave, a compelling and revealing look behind the curtain of the big wave surfing scene. With unprecedented honesty, insight and access over 10 years filmmaker Stephanie Johnes tracks the career of pioneering charger Maya Gabeira and the myriad obstacles she has faced – spinal injuries, sexism, drowning, hold downs and more - both in and out of the water. This is not just a big wave story, this is a big story.

Accompanied by a very special director Q&A.

“Jaw Dropping” Variety

“breathtaking … tracks Gabeira’s triumph over industry sexism and a catastrophic wipe-out that nearly cost her career and her life.” Wendy Ide, The Guardian

After the break Yentl Touboul’s North Stars follows the perennially stylish and progressive Adrien Toyen as he travels from chilly perfection in Ireland to the tropical point breaks of Reunion. Featuring Andrew Kidman, Mikey February, Lee-Ann Curren and more. Return to Zero, Dir. Amado Parame Stachenfeld explores the theme reincarnation through the physical form of a surfboard in glorious 16mm. Featuring the likes of Anna Gudauskas, Joey Bookout, Kassia Meador, Paul Takahashi and Trevor Gordon it’s a wall to wall mind surfing feast . 5th Country Dir. Guillem Cruells follows William Aliotti, Brendon Gibbens and Eli Buerkes as they venture to formerly war-torn Liberia to check in on the nascent surf scene and share waves in this inspiring and beautiful short.

We’re delighted to have a host of very special guests joining for Q&A’s to round of this Gala Closing Night.

Plus The Shorties shortlist film – the very best short films from homegrown filmmakers.

Head to the individual programme listings for full information about the films.
