The LS/FF NIGHT PASS for SATURDAY 9th November serves up a night of big waves, big turns and big horizons as we journey BEHIND THE CURTAIN.
Saturday opens with the multi award-winning Maya and the Wave, a compelling and revealing look behind the curtain of the big wave surfing scene. With unprecedented honesty, insight and access over 10 years filmmaker Stephanie Johnes tracks the career of pioneering charger Maya Gabeira and the myriad obstacles she has faced – spinal injuries, sexism, drowning, hold downs and more - both in and out of the water. This is not just a big wave story, this is a big story.
Accompanied by a very special director Q&A.
