As part of our Black and Gifted programme supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, musical artist Nadeem Din-Gabisi - renowned for his poems and songs of Diasporic Blues - brings his talents to Riverside Studios for a free music and lyric-writing workshop.
Nadeem is a London- based multidisciplinary artist who featured on the hit song Energy with Sampa the Great which Barack Obama chose as one of his favourite songs of the summer. He has recently begun curating and performing at his monthly vocal-focused music night Bare Milk Bare Bones at Grow, Hackney
Riverside Studios invites you to join Nadeem for this writing workshop in which he will guide attendees through developing a poem or song, inspiring you to express your feelings and experiences through music and lyrics. For those who wish to, you will be able to perform your final piece to the group during the workshop.
Since being established as an arts centre in 1976, Riverside Studios has hosted some of the world's greatest musical artists including Amy Winehouse, Prince, Paul McCartney, Lionel Richie, David Bowie and Kelis. Taking inspiration from these greats, we welcome the lyricists and musicians of tomorrow
This event is free thanks to support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
