We are delighted that writer and critic Kim Newman will introduce this unique 'Made at Riverside' TV event.

Made at Riverside Studios between 1958 and 1959, the BBC's Quatermass and the Pit is legendary television. Known to have influenced John Carpenter, Stephen King and Mark Gatiss, the serial featured in the BFI's list of 100 Greatest Television Programmes, which described it as "completely gripping". Each of the six episodes were broadcast live (aside from some 35mm inserts) from Riverside's Studio 1 and we are delighted to bring you a rare screening of the complete serial.

Workmen excavating a site in Knightsbridge discover an unusual skull and what appears to be an unexploded bomb. Professor Bernard Quatermass becomes involved in the investigation when it becomes apparent that the object is, in fact, an alien spacecraft.
