Riverside studios is delighted to present their first monthly Songwriting course. This class is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 with a passion for music. If you are interested in learning how to write a song then this class is for you. We will focus on building melodies and honing in on lyric writing through fun exercises and industry techniques. No musical knowledge is required, but if you can sing/play an instrument it's a bonus.
This term
Led by musician, Scarlet Billham, Riverscribes Songwriting is a space to develop your skills - we will hone in on your songwriting craft - no matter what stage you are at. In the sessions you will learn the ins and outs of what it takes to write a song, key songwriting components, tips and tricks as well as exercises that will help to develop your lyrical and melodic ability. Being able to sing or play an instrument isnt a requirement - but if you can and are comfortable doing so its hugely encouraged. These monthly meet ups are a place to explore, develop and have fun with music. There will also be opportunities to share your songs within lessons and later with an audience.
