A contemporary, mythic fable about the complexities of parenting an unconventional child, about love, and about growing up.
Note from the Writer:
I am the parent of a seal boy. Seal Boy, my metaphor, my myth, my stand-in for the troubled child, for a child outside the ‘norm’, for the endangered or the dangerous child. Society has euphemisms and even medical classifications, but they’re mostly umbrella terms created to encompass a constellation of symptoms rather than specific, tangible diagnoses. This sends many a parent down the rabbit hole of interventions. This play is one mother’s, one family’s, journey down the rabbit hole.
"I feel less alone after hearing your play.”
"I thought it was disturbingly touching"
"gutsy, warm blooded performance"
