After 20 years away, Odysseus (Fiennes) washes up on the shores of Ithaca, haggard and unrecognisable. Back home, his wife Penelope (Binoche) is hounded by her many ambitious suitors to choose a new husband and king, and his son Telemachus faces death at their very hands. Scarred by his experience of war, Odysseus is no longer the mighty warrior his people remember, and yet, he must face his past to win back the love he has lost.
