In January, London funksters True Groove had the River Room jumping to the sounds of Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Randy Crawford, The Meters and many more soul greats, as well as their own funky interpretations of the songs of Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Gloria Jones and others. We’re delighted to be bringing them back for two dates this spring.
Tune in to the vocal talents of rising star Louella Lucas, the sweet harmonies of Laura AlYousif, and soaring solos by Dave Carmichael on tenor sax and guitarists Mark Cannon and Anthony Quinn, supported by the funkiest rhythm section this side of anywhere - Gordon Shepherd on keys, Neil Titman on bass and Rich Valencia on drums. Gerry Blair joins the band on percussion and will be mixing the sound.
