In the final hot summer days before German reunification in 1990, the free spirited and unemployed Maren (Sandra Hüller), her partner Robert (Max Riemelt – Berlin Syndrome) and friend Volker (Ronald Zehrfeld – Phoenix) stumble across millions in soon to be worthless east german currency. With just a few days before the money becomes defunct, the trio must recruit the close-knit socialist community of their friends and neighbours to cash in.
