Voices of Earls Court is a community actor training and performance programme and has brought together a group of local residents to explore storytelling through acting, writing, voice, and movement. Over the past eight weeks, participants have been learning and collaborating, have built a special bond and now they are ready to share their work with the public.
This special evening is an opportunity to witness how a community has come together through theatre, a chance to witness their progress, hear their stories in a work-in-progress format, and engage in a conversation about the project, the community, and the role of the arts in Earls Court and wider communities.
Open Class Presentation
The ensemble will share exercises and techniques they’ve been working on, offering a glimpse into the skills they’ve been developing over the course of the project.
Work-in-Progress Stories
Participants will present personal and collaborative stories they’ve been crafting in a theatre production format. This theatrical work in progress, reflects the experiences and gives a voice to the people living in and around Earls Court. These beautiful, authentic stories of love, family, finding oneself, dreams, duty and ghosts celebrate the rich cultural history and the people who have made it so.
Community Conversation
After the sharing, we welcome you to join an open discussion about the Voices project, its impact so far, and how initiatives like this can contribute to community cohesion, how the arts can improve skills, mental and physical wellbeing and provide creative inspiration.
Join us for a chance to support local residents as they explore creative expression. It’s an opportunity to connect with neighbours, listen to their stories, and share your thoughts.
The project is curated by Art Theatre London and supported by The Earls Court Community Fund, The Earls Court Community Hub & Linden House.
