West London Free School Alumni Exhibition 2025 'Championing Creativity'

3 November 2025 – 5 January 2026

Opening reception 6 November 5-7pm

Novembers sees the launch of the first ever exhibition of works by alumni and staff of the West London Free School at Riverside Studios to celebrate the achievements of all the students who have gone on to follow exciting and innovative pathways.

Fostering creativity has been one of the key elements of the West London Free School since its inception in 2011. The exhibition brings together a selection of works by ex-WLFS students and past and present staff and includes printmaking, film, fashion photography, painting and architectural drawings. With this multi-disciplinary showcase, we seek to highlight the continuing relevance of the arts in the curriculum and the importance of championing an appreciation of visual culture through engaging creatively with the world around us.

The Creative Industries are a cornerstone of the British economy, and their continued importance and growth must be supported. Art education in schools provides the foundation for this and encourages curiosity, experimentation and collaboration.

Head of Art and History of Art at WLFS Mr James Bacchi-Andreoli states,  ‘Here at WLFS we harness the talents of young artists from an early age, and we want to equip pupils for the future by giving them the independence and confidence to challenge the obvious and find innovative solutions to any creative problem’

Our past students have gone on to world-renowned institutions at home and abroad from The Bartlett School of Architecture, London College Fashion, University of the Arts London, Universities of Cambridge, Leeds, Goldsmiths and IFM Paris to name but a few’.

With more than 30 creative practitioners in this show it demonstrates that a specialisation in the arts can lead to many interesting and sustainable careers in diverse fields from fashion, advertising and animation to film, teaching and architecture. It is therefore vital to keep the arts and the fulfilment of creative endeavour in the spotlight, for as the well-known art activist Bob and Roberta Smith said: ‘Art Makes People Powerful.’
