A Pantomime Dame wakes up in a bizarre world filled with real panto characters and sets out on a deadly quest. 

Winner of the Buzz Goodbody Director’s Award 2025, Panto Dame Ego Death is a slap-dash musical comedy about staring failure in the face and belting out that show-stopping number anyway. 

Four performers and a workhorse piano tell the story of Denise, a washed-up Pantomime Dame who is transported to a strange other world after choking on stage.

 On a mission to return home and save her career, can Denise and a crew of nonsense panto-land characters uncover the scary (and sexy) evil plaguing this world?

Bold, queer, and unashamedly silly, Panto Dame Ego Death is the tale of hitting rock bottom and clawing your way back just in time for the curtain call.

 Shortlisted for the Charlie Hartill Award 2026, this absurd adventure is the debut production of North-West based devising company Pint Glass Theatre.
