Platform

Mon 25 May - Mon 20 Jul 2026

Hideout Theatre presents Platform - three celebratory evenings dedicated to new writing from some of London’s most exciting up-and-coming playwrights. Each Platform event focuses on two newly-written plays.

These evenings include live rehearsed readings from both plays, the sharing of conceptual artwork and sketches, and the opportunity to hear about the processes and development behind the work from the writers themselves.

Join us as we get to know the next generation of London playwrights, and become part of the growing theatre-making community.

CREATION MYTH by Elin Caracoglia:

In her writing workshop, Rory is told her art is not “authentic” enough. With the encouragement of her friends, they look for new, more visceral approaches to art-making, finding meaning and hope in anger and bloody rituals. But as Rory finally starts to find her artistic voice, her sense of self begins to crumble.

Creation Myth explores the sexual politics of art, rage, and what it takes for a female artist to be considered “great”.

Elin Caracoglia is a Swedish playwright and dramaturg based in London. Her play CREATION MYTH was shortlisted for the 2023 Woven Voices Prize, and longlisted for the 2025 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting and the 2025 Ilfeld Prize. Her previous work has been performed at Theatre503, The Pleasance, Southwark Theatre, and the Union Theatre.

NAN BULLEN by Emily Dilworth

‘I know what they’ll say of me. Nan Bullen, what a cold woman.’

In 1522, Anne Boleyn returns home from France to the English Court. Charming, charismatic and determined to satisfy her pride, she sets out to find an advantageous marriage. She could never anticipate that the King of England would cast aside his wife and turn his affection to her, or that that she would return it.

Navigating the rise and fall of power, conscience and guilt, love and heartbreak, NAN BULLEN considers what it means to become a vessel for other people’s narratives. NAN BULLEN is Emily’s debut play.

Emily Dilworth is a British-Zimbabwean actor and theatre maker, with extensive experience in developing new writing. She is a part of Linnet Theatre, an award-nominated theatre company, whose most recent production, THE LOST ART OF KEEPING A SECRET, earned the company acclaim as an exciting upcoming collective. As an actor, she has led several award-winning projects and has recently worked with the Oxford Playhouse, the Royal Academy of Music, and featured in F.I.T.D (dir. Justin Smith Uzomba). Emily also teaches acting to young adults, specialising in classical texts.
