Cufflink (Rehearsed Reading)

Thu 7 May 2026 19:30

This staged reading of Cufflink presents a new contemporary political drama exploring truth, power and perception.

When a rising politician is accused of a serious crime, a single piece of evidence ignites a media frenzy, forcing journalists, the public, and those closest to him to confront the dangerous blurred lines between truth and narrative.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Themes of sexual assault/rape

Audience Reviews from Table Read:

Cufflink is a formidable modern tragedy. The writing lulls you into a false sense of security and then twists and turns beautifully. It would make for a fantastic watch.”

Cufflink is an uncomfortable look at the sinister side of male-dominated politics, told through the eyes of the women in their lives. It raises uncomfortable questions about how far some men will go and whether we can really know what the people we love are capable of. Anna Cleden does a great job of humanising the characters so we’re left with just enough doubt at every turn. With motives left deliberately obscured and a script as bold as its female protagonist, I left feeling a profound sense of shame at the violence perpetrated at women.”

“Shocking, emotional and hauntingly realistic, Cufflink eloquently delves into the complexities of a conversation that few are willing to have, setting the scene for change and healing.”
