The Tough (14mins - directed by Marcin Polar).

The Tough is a recently discovered cave network in the Tatra Mountains. The film's protagonist chose the name well. In this claustrophobic, visually powerful and experimental film our imagination is stirred as we follow him into the ground and into spaces never seen before.

Ice Ball (14mins- Directed by Nathaniel Schmidt)

Will Steger, the legendary polar explorer, inspires a community by preserving the forgotten craft of ice harvesting.

Buddha of the Chadar (28mins - directed by Sean Whitaker).

Winner of our Living World Award. A father and son from the Indian Himalayas embark on a winter pilgrimage along an ancient way to deliver a heavy bronze Buddha statue to a remote mountain monastery. Their route is the frozen surface of the River Zanskar.

Body of Water (42mins - directed by Benjamin Paul and Scott M Salt)

Winner of our Best Action Award. Follow wild swimmer Gilly McArthur on her mental and physical journey to seek out remote, icy waters. From the windswept mountain tarns of her home in the Lake District to frozen lochs in the Scottish Highlands, the search for ice is not as easy as it used to be.
